Finally found a static site generator that doesn’t make me tear my hair out for my extremely simple use case. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a plug-and-play solution for something as simple as wanting to run a barebones, decent looking blog with no interactive content. I may simply be a midwit but everything from Hugo to Jekyll seems to want you to properly understand their template engine and configure it to get the most out of them when frankly if I cared to learn anything about web development beyond the bare minimum I wouldn’t be writing this in markdown and using an off the shelf theme. I would prefer the Rust or Go static site generators to the one written in NPM, but I suppose we must all pick our poison, and at the end of the day its only building what I’m pushing to Neocities, not running the show. For now it does its very simple job, and with that I’m as happy as I reasonably can be.
